Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team in the CT department. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing CT scans, ensuring patient comfort and safety, and providing high-quality diagnostic images. Required Skills and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to be a graduate of an accredited two-year AMA program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology and hold current ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine. Additionally, you will need to have advanced registry from the ARRT in CT scanning within one year of hire and current CPR certification. Job Summary: As a Medical Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. This will involve operating CT scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the examination process. Essential Functions: The key responsibilities of this role include examining patient requests and verifying orders, preparing patients for procedures, administering IV contrast according to departmental protocols, and evaluating the technical quality of images. You will also be responsible for maintaining a high level of patient care, adhering to radiation safety standards, and reporting any equipment malfunctions to the department director or manager. Physical Requirements: This role requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies. You will also be required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods, and may be exposed to various physical conditions throughout the day. Work Environment: As a Medical Imaging Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of patient interaction. You will be required to rotate shifts, including weekends and holidays, and adhere to Atrium Health's attendance policy.
