Job SummaryAs a registered nurse at Prisma Health, you will provide direct patient care, education, and support to patients in a physician specialty practice setting. You will function as a clinical and community resource, educator, and consultant, utilizing advanced nursing knowledge and experience to influence nursing practice in the assigned setting.Key Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care in an outpatient physician practice setting, maintaining an advanced knowledge base of disease entities, medications, and other treatment options specific to the medical specialty.
• Assesses and evaluates extensive health history, evaluates effectiveness of care, and makes changes according to predetermined care plan or after consultation with a physician.
• Performs phone triage accurately, involving physicians when needed, and uses critical thinking skills and advanced knowledge to handle the majority of patient concerns.
• Triage current patient population and incoming referrals as applicable, prioritizing scheduling of office visits and testing, and works with physicians to determine scheduling of emergent patients.
• Identifies learning needs of patients and/or families, works with team members and community resources to develop and carry out educational plans, and modifies the process as needed to ensure educational objectives are met.
• Assists with in-office procedures, provides comfort and safety measures for patients before, during, and after procedures, and assumes responsibility for patient safety by maintaining a safe environment.
• Champions the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality improvement projects and policies and procedures specific to the specialty area, mentors and assists new team members until they are proficient.
• Evaluates own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards, guidelines, state statues, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, and maintains competency through education and professional activities.
• Acts as an expert resource for and coordinates continuing education for team members and hospital staff using community resources as necessary, under the direction of the manager/nurse manager.Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• 1 year of Clinical Nursing Experience within specialty or related applicable specialty.
• Licensed to practice as a RN in South Carolina.
