Atrium Health Charlotte is seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join their team in Charlotte, North Carolina.Job SummaryThe MRI Technologist will perform procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards, operating MRI scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency.Key Responsibilities

• Examine requests and verify orders on each assigned patient, referring and questioning orders to the Radiologist as needed.
• Properly identify and assist patients, preparing them for procedures with a full explanation and documenting on appropriate worksheets.
• Interview patients for a complete medical history, reviewing EMR's to obtain pertinent clinical history and recording medical history on requisitions.
• Assume responsibility for the exam from beginning to completion, preparing and administering IV contrast as needed.
• Evaluate technical quality of images and consult with a Radiologist if necessary, recognizing abnormal anatomy and processing additional images as instructed.
• Perform basic patient care functions, informing nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition and initiating life support measures as needed.
• Operate radiology computer system to enter orders and charge procedures/supplies, documenting contrast administration in the MAR.Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA approved program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine with advanced registry from the ARMRIT or ARRT in MRI required within one year of hire.
