Job SummaryThe MRI Technologist I performs procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. Operates MRI Scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency.Key Responsibilities

• Examine requests and verify orders on each assigned patient, referring and questioning orders to the Radiologist as necessary.
• Properly identify and assist patients, explaining procedures and documenting relevant information.
• Interview patients to gather medical history and review electronic medical records to obtain pertinent clinical information.
• Assume responsibility for the exam from beginning to completion, evaluating technical quality and consulting with Radiologists as needed.
• Administer IV contrast according to departmental protocols and record relevant information.
• Perform basic patient care functions, informing nursing personnel of any changes in patient condition and initiating life support measures when necessary.
• Operate MRI scanning equipment and assist Physicians/PA during invasive procedures, practicing sterile technique and adhering to radiation safety standards.
• Report malfunctioning equipment and maintain knowledge of MRI safety requirements for staff and patients.RequirementsThe ideal candidate will possess a graduate degree from an accredited Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology program and ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology, with advanced registry in MRI within one year of hire.Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center is a world-class facility offering a full range of services, and this position is eligible for a sign-on bonus and robust benefits package.
