Job Description:
Hendersonville Pediatrics is looking for Medical Assistants to
work in our Hendersonville office location. Hendersonville
Pediatrics has been serving WNC for over 50 years. The practice
offers a fast paced but welcoming environment for staff and
patients alike.Perform administrative and certain clinical duties
under the direction of a physician. Clinical duties may include
taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing
patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering
medications as directed by physician.Benefits401K with company

care:Responsible for assisting your physician(s) in the care of
patients to assure optimal medical care.&Keep appointments
flowing smoothly to assure all patients are seen in time, and the
physician s time is well-managed.&Greet and escort patient to
exam room.&Take patient history. This includes but is not
limited to chief complaint, family history, medication allergies,
list of medications and vital signs.&Prepare EHR chart for
physician prior to them entering the room.&Prepare patients for
exam/procedures.&Give immunizations and other injections as
instructed. &Provide immunization records to patient receiving
vaccines as well as Vaccine information sheets for all vaccines
given.&Observe sterilization guidelines.&Prepare treatment
room for physician prior to surgical procedures.&Clean rooms
between patients.&Respond to emergency situations confidently
and professionally.Laboratory:Responsible for performing basic
laboratory procedures and maintaining the lab.&Perform
appropriate diagnostic lab procedures including blood/specimen
collection, blood spinning and rocking, etc.&Make sure all
samples are labeled and all results entered correctly.&Keep the
lab stocked, organized and clean.&Maintain laboratory in
compliance with CLIA regulations.Marginal Functions: Must attend
staff meeting and in-services and instructed.&Keep up to date
on all new procedures.&Maintain accurate, complete and timely
patient records.&Maintain patient confidentiality.&Organize
drug closets.&Scrub and clean surgical equipment.&Remain in
compliance with OSHA standard guidelines.Marginal Functions:Must
attend staff meeting and in-services and instructed.&Keep up to
date on all new procedures.&Maintain accurate, complete and
timely patient records.&Maintain patient
confidentiality.&Organize drug closets.&Scrub and clean
surgical equipment.&Remain in compliance with OSHA standard
guidelines.&Performs other duties as requested (see NCIR,
Crash-Cart, etc.)Working Conditions:Works in a fast-paced,
well-lit, comfort-controlled medical office. High traffic area.
Work may be stressful. Interaction with others is constant and
interruptive. Occasional irregular hours. Frequent exposure to
communicable disease, toxic substances, medical preparations and
other conditions common to clinical environment.Physical
demands:Requires full range of body motion including handling and
moving equipment, hand-eye coordination. Involves substantial
standing and walking. Possess the ability to respond to
telephone/paging contacts.Performance Requirements:Ability and
knowledge to perform medical assistant care.&Knowledge of
examination, diagnostic, and treatment room
procedures.&Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to
administer patient care.&Ability to react calmly and
effectively in emergency situations.&Ability to interpret and
adapt.&Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to
establish a safe work environment.&Skill in taking vital
signs.&Skills in maintaining records and recording test
results.&Skills in electronic medical records.&Skill in
developing and maintaining effective working relationships with
physicians, patients, employees and the public.&Possess good
written and verbal communication skills.&Always presents a
professional image.&Ability to do detailed and accurate
work.&Utilizes time management skills.&Answers telephone in
a professional manner.&Read, understand and follow oral and
written instructions.&Recognize, evaluate, solve problems, and
correct errors.&Maintain productivity and work independently as

licensed OR Certified Medical Assistant OR Minimum 1 year
experience as a Medical AssistantAble to prove previous experience
as a Medical Assistant OR certification/license on resumeWork a

nights/weekendsHave reliable transportationHigh school diploma or
GEDCNA licensed OR Certified Medical Assistant OR Minimum 1 year
experience as a Medical AssistantCurrent license in NC or
