Job Summary:
US Engine Valve is seeking a highly skilled Lead Manufacturing
Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing
organization, you will be responsible for designing and specifying
advanced electrical, mechanical, and computer-controlled systems to
improve manufacturing support and maintenance programs. You will
also develop process specifications, machine parameters, and plans
for scrap reduction and uptime improvements. Additionally, you will
drive capital projects from strategic planning to purchase,
installation, and handoff to operations. You will benchmark
best-in-class facilities and implement world-class processes,
equipment, and workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design control systems for machine tools, including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Select capital equipment for manufacturing processes and improve current machine tools to increase uptime, quality, and productivity.
- Provide engineering support to production equipment and processes, including advising maintenance teams.
- Establish programs for cost savings and advise on improving preventative maintenance programs.
- Consult with suppliers and internal engineers for continuous improvement programs.
- Authorize and approve changes to machine tool programs.
- Train associates on new technologies and manufacturing processes.
- Maintain and follow Quality Management System and Environmental Management System requirements.
- Participate in teams and champion team activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required.
- Technical knowledge in machine function, processes, control systems, CNC, PLC, servo drives, stepper motor drives, and electrical/electronic systems.
- Technical knowledge in mechanical design.
- Detailed abilities in capital equipment justification, project scheduling, and managerial planning.
- Human relations are essential, and the ability to mentor and
develop maintenance personnel.
