$37,924GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The primary purpose of this position is
to perform a variety of preventative maintenance and repair tasks
on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other mechanical systems in
County buildings. This position also provides assistance with minor
building construction, renovation, and general carpentry
work.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Install and repair HVAC equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose system problems.
- Repair and install electrical equipment.
- Paint building and structures as required.
- Install sheetrock in various facilities.
- Construct walls and perform other carpentry duties.
- Install carpet and other types of flooring.
- Provide maintenance on mechanical locking systems.
- Install and repair plumbing systems.
- Perform minor renovations.
- Perform preventative maintenance on buildings.
- Construct and form concrete.
- Lay construction blocks.
- Perform routine maintenance on various equipment.
- Assist with custodial duties.
- Assist with interoffice mail delivery.
- Assist with grounds keeping duties.
- Purchase materials, supplies, parts, etc. for work orders with
County purchasing credit card according to County policy.Essential

assigned.Requirements:KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge
and training in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems;Ability to
interpret technical procedures, manuals, and reports;Good
mathematical skills;Basic masonry, electrical, and carpentry
skills;Customer service and interpersonal skills;Ability to
communicate effectively orally and in writing;Ability to operate
computerized equipment;Ability to safely use various hand
tools;Knowledge of SC State Statutes.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:The
educational requirement for this position is: Completion of high
school/GED. Some technical training in HVAC, electrical, and/or
plumbing. Education may not be substituted for
experience.Related-experience required: 5 years.Experience may be
substituted for education.LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR
REGISTRATIONS: Certifications, licenses, professional designations,
or other qualifications required for this position include:
- Valid SC Driver's LicenseCertifications, licenses, professional
designations, or other qualifications preferred for this position
include:
- EPA certification, Backflow certification, technical training
in HVAC, electrical, and/or plumbing.ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS: Physical Requirements:The physical activities

time; up to 50 pounds: up to 2/3 of the time; up to 100 pounds: up
to 2/3 of the time; and, more than 100 pounds: under 1/3 of the
time.Vision Requirements:This position has the following special
vision requirements:
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
- Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)
- Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
- Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen
up or down or to the left and right when vision is fixed on a given
point)
- Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge
distances and spatial relationships)
- Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an
object into sharp focus)ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS: The
