Volt is immediately hiring IT Support Technician in West
Columbia, South Carolina.

As an IT Support Technician, you will be responsible for:
Responsibilities:
Performs the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of
personal computer and related systems.
Assists in determining suitable software to meet user
requirements.
Manage required supplies for printers (not to include paper).
Install software, patches, and updates on desktops, laptops and
personal devices.
Keep accurate tracking of all assets supported by Deskside.
Maintain PC assets in both a physical and logical manner and
maintain its accurate tracking.
Provide 1st line technical support for end-user's computer hardware
and software, printers and network connectivity.
Troubleshoots software and hardware failures and identifies network
problems when they relate to personal (desktop or laptop)
end-users' computers.
Assist Network Administrator/Analyst to troubleshoot end-users'
network-related issues.
Interacts with vendors to facilitate repairs of hardware, i.e.
printers, laptops, and desktops.
Performs image builds for use on all desktop and laptops.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills:
General knowledge of PC architecture (hardware and software).
Exposure to Windows 95, 98, 2000, or NT 4.0. Windows Operating
systems.
Knowledge of ghosting/imaging processes used for disk duplication
into standard environments.
Adherence to prescribed helpdesk procedures.
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and
maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or
associates in organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and
interpret bar graphs.
Ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice where
concrete variable and standardized situations exist.
Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
furnished in written, oral or diagram form
Education:
Associate's degree in computer science, information systems, or
information technology is preferred or equivalent work experience
and training.
Additional certifications are a plus (CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+,
CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certificates)
This is a Full-Time, Contract opportunity.
Schedule: Part-Time (20 hrs/week) - 7:00 Am - 5:30 Pm Friday and
Saturday
Duration: 12 Months
Location: West Columbia, South Carolina
Pay Rate: $22.0 - $24.0 per hour on W2.
Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on
several factors, including the candidate's education, work
experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications,
etc.
